Sáng 31/3, ông Vương Đ́nh Huệ nhận được tín nhiệm của Quốc hội khóa XIV, trở thành Chủ tịch Quốc hội, Chủ tịch Hội đồng bầu cử Quốc gia.
Sau khi thực hiện nghi lễ tuyên thệ và nhận hoa chúc mừng từ người tiền nhiệm Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, ông Vương Đ́nh Huệ có bài phát biểu nhậm chức ngắn gọn.
Trân trọng cảm ơn sự tín nhiệm của các đại biểu Quốc hội, ông Vương Đ́nh Huệ nói: "Đây là vinh dự vô cùng to lớn, đồng thời cũng là trách nhiệm rất nặng nề đối với cá nhân tôi".
Theo tân Chủ tịch Quốc hội, kỳ họp lần này là kỳ họp cuối cùng của Quốc hội khóa XIV, diễn ra trong bối cảnh toàn Đảng, toàn dân, toàn quân đang tích cực triển khai thực hiện Nghị quyết Đại hội Đảng toàn quốc lần thứ XIII và chuẩn bị cho cuộc bầu cử đại biểu Quốc hội khóa XV, đại biểu HĐND các cấp nhiệm kỳ 2021-2026.
