The demonstration took place in Hyde Park, London, on April 24. The protesters threw bottles at the police. At least 5 people were arrested.
Two of the eight injured police officers were hospitalized, although the injuries were not too severe. Photos shared on social media showed a policewoman bleeding her head, while another was injured on her forehead.
"These officers are just doing their duty," John Apter, president of the Federation of British and Welsh Police, tweeted. "I will continue to give them as much support as I can, but I need the government to do more." Protesters ignored the social segregation rules to march through central London, demanding Prohibit the use of vaccine passport and stop blockade. They carry banners that say "vaccine passport = second level society", or "you don't need proof to prove the truth".
Some of Oxford Street shoppers were teased by the crowd and asked to remove their masks.
