Cảnh sát TP Los Angels xác nhận với đài CBSLA bà ngoại của những đứa trẻ báo tin về vụ án mạng vào khoảng 9 giờ 30 phút (giờ địa phương). Sau đó, cô ta bị tình nghi tham gia 1 vụ đột nhập xe ở khu vực Bakersfield và đánh cắp 1 chiếc xe bán tải màu bạc hiệu Toyota.Đến 14 giờ, Sở Cảnh sát Los Angeles báo cáo Carrillo bị bắt ở hạt Tulare, cách khu dân cư Reseda khoảng 4 giờ lái xe.

Police identified the mother of three victims, Liliana Carrillo (30 years old), as the only suspect in the stabbing to death. Investigators said Carrillo fled north on Highway 5. She was then suspected of participating in a car crash in the Bakersfield area and stealing a silver Toyota pickup truck. At 14 o'clock, the Los Angeles Police Department reported Carrillo was arrested in Tulare County, about a four-hour drive from the Reseda neighborhood.

"She committed a terrible crime here, then continued to commit it. It was those acts that caused her to be arrested" - Lt. Ben Fernades said.

Previously, there were reports that the victims died from stabbing but the police correct the cause of death has not been confirmed. The investigation agency has also not discovered the motive of the case. It is not clear where Carrillo resides, her criminal record or the whereabouts of the children's father.
