Donald Trump has been branded as the worst US President in history for a third consecutive time by a group of political scholars. Top academics have repeatedly crowned him with this dubious title on the basis of their expert insights into US presidential politics, while they also uncoverred people's top three favorite presidents of all time.

A new poll which featured contributions from specialists in American presidency from the University of Houston and Coastal Carolina University found Trump topping the list as the most unsuitable leader in US history.

Based on feedback from nearly 200 academics from various fields, their research reaffirms Abraham Lincoln as the nation's most exemplary president. Franklin Delano Roosevelt also outranks George Washington to take up the second place.

What's more noticeable, however, is Trump's consistent place at the bottom of this list across surveys. The only presidents just one level above Trump are James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, and William Henry Harrison. This paints a vivid picture of America's rocky political landscape during Trump's time.

Interestingly, these latest survey findings come at a point when Trump persistently maintains that he is a "favourite president" in his social media posts and public speeches even amidst managing four ongoing criminal charges, one civil fraud case, and orders to pay over $355 million.

The survey shows that recent Democratic leaders are getting better scores, while most Republican bosses, except Ronald Reagan, are not doing as well.

Justin Vaughn, who teaches politics at Coastal Carolina University, shared: "In the first post-Trump survey, we see a significant bump for recent Democratic presidents with each one moving up in the rankings while each of the recent Republican presidents dropped down, with the exception of President Trump who remained at the bottom of the rankings."

Joe Biden has come in at number 14, as his second election campaign against Donald Trump heats up.

Brandon Rottinghaus from the Presidential Greatness Project mentioned: "Scholars often emphasise stability of norms in assessing presidential greatness, so Joe Biden, serving after a tumultuous Trump administration, entered the survey on a high note."

The study also looked at past presidents' scores changing over time, like Ulysses S. Grant's going up, which is a bit of a surprise, and Andrew Jackson's going down because people think he was mean to Native Americans.

The survey also gives us a sneak peek into who people would like to see next on Mount Rushmore. Roosevelt is the top pick, with Obama coming in second.
