Chỉ số Dow Jones giảm mức lịch sử sau cú sốc giá dầu
 

Trong phiên giao dịch ngày thứ Hai (9/3) sau khi giá dầu giảm 22%, khiến các chỉ số chính ở Phố Wall đã giảm 7% và Dow Jones giảm 2.000 điểm, mức giảm lớn nhất trong ngày từ trước đến nay.

Theo Reuters, giao dịch trên các sàn chứng khoán Mỹ đã bị ngừng lại ngay sau khi mở ra vào thứ Hai, khi chỉ số S&P 500 giảm 7%, gây ra việc tự động ngừng giao dịch trong 15 phút, kể từ sau cuộc khủng hoảng tài chính năm 2008-2009.

Động thái tăng sản lượng dầu đáng kể của Ả Rập Xê Út sau khi thỏa thuận cắt giảm nguồn cung của OPEC với Nga bị sụp đổ đã tạo ra những làn sóng mới trên thị trường tài chính toàn cầu, vốn đang xáo trộn vì tác động của sự bùng phát dịch virus corona.

Dầu thô ghi nhận một ngày tồi tệ nhất trong gần ba thập niên, khiến các công ty dầu mỏ Chevron và Exxon Mobil giảm hơn 9%. Chỉ số năng lượng .SPNY giảm 20,1%.

Vào lúc 9:54 sáng giờ miền Đông Hoa Kỳ, chỉ số Dow Jones đã giảm 1.791,85 điểm, tương đương 6,93%, ở mức 24.072,93; và chỉ số S&P 500 giảm 195,93 điểm, tương đương 6,59%, ở mức 2,776,44. Chỉ số Nasdaq giảm 530,62 điểm, tương đương 6,19%, ở mức 8.045,00.
