The northern province of Vinh Phuc has recorded five F1 contacts with Chinese experts who were confirmed positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus when returning home, the Vinh Phuc provincial Department of Health reported on May 2.

These cases had first positive test results and were transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment on May 1 afternoon.

The provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control had an urgent meeting to discuss a score of anti-pandemic measures.

Previously, the Department of Health of Yen Bai province issued a notice saying that at 8 p.m on April 30, it received information from the Friendship Border Immigration Inspection Station of the People's Republic of China about a group of Chinese experts testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 after completing entry procedures to return home from Vietnam.

The group from the Central North Asia Company had traveled to the northern provinces of Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Vinh Phuc, and then returned their home country after completing the period of isolation in Yen Bai.

The same day, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Hanoi also reported the detection of 2 F1 contacts positive for SARS-CoV-2 linked to Chinese experts after returning home.

The cases include a driver in Nam Tu Liem district and an employee of Sunny bar in Vinh Phuc who has an address in Hanoi's Hoang Mai district.
