Sau khi Mỹ hối thúc về hành động quân sự nhằm trừng phạt Syria vì có cáo buộc chính quyền Damascus sử dụng vũ khí hóa học với dân thường, Moscow đã điều một loạt tàu chiến hạng nặng tới Địa Trung Hải, đối trọng với lực lượng Mỹ.

</td></tr></tbody></table>Hãng tin Interfax của Nga dẫn lời nguồn tin quân sự: "Chúng tôi đang xem xét điều chỉnh sự hiện diện ở khu vực Đông Địa Trung Hải cho đủ khả năng đáp ứng các nhiệm vụ. Nếu cần thiết, kết hợp với lực lượng tàu ngầm, các tàu hải quân Nga có thể tác động tới tình hình quân sự".

Theo hãng tin RT, các tàu chiến của Nga đang áp sát Địa Trung Hải bao gồm: tàu khu trục Smetlivy và Nastoichivy, tàu chống ngầm Đô đốc Panteleyev, khinh hạm Neustrashimy, tàu đổ bộ Alexander Shabalin, tàu Đô đốc Nevelsky và Peresvet.

Tuần dương hạm tên lửa Moskva, tàu đổ bộ cỡ lớn Novocherkassk và Minsk, tàu do thám Priazovye cũng sẽ sớm gia nhập đội tàu chiến của Nga tại Địa Trung Hải.

Hôm nay, Reuters đưa tin Nga vừa điều thêm tàu Nikolai Filchenkov tới áp sát Syria.
Bộ Quốc phòng Nga thông báo Hải quân nước này sẽ thực hiện một đợt luân chuyển tàu chiến định kỳ vào đầu tháng 9 tại Địa Trung Hải.

Khinh hạm Neustrashimy, các tàu đổ bộ tấn công cỡ lớn Shabalin, Đô đốc Nevelsky và Peresvet đang làm nhiệm vụ tại các khu vực chiến lược ở Địa Trung Hải sẽ được thay thế bằng nhóm tàu Đô đốc Panteleyev, và các tàu đổ bộ tấn công cỡ lớn Minsk và Novocherkassk, được điều động từ Novorossiysk.

Trong đó, tàu chống hạm cỡ lớn Đô đốc Panteleyev sẽ đóng vai trò chỉ huy.
