Arrow Two more repatriation flights for Vietnamese expatriates in Ukraine

Vietnam will arrange two more flights this week to bring back its citizens fleeing Ukraine’s war zones.

First Vietnamese citizens fleeing Ukraine's war zones return to Hanoi safely from a 10-hour flight from Warsaw (Poland).

Both flights will be operated by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

Flight VN88 is scheduled to transport approximately 240 people from Bucharest (Romania) on March 17.

Meanwhile, Flight VN58 is set to land at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on March 19, bringing home 240 people from Warsaw (Poland).

As of March 16, Vietnamese representative agencies have received more than 4,600 evacuees from Ukraine to neighboring countries, of whom nearly 1200 have returned home safely on four flights on March 7, 9 and 13.

Most of the evacuees wishing to return to Vietnam have received support from Vietnamese representative missions abroad in completing necessary procedures. Other citizens have moved to a third country or returned to Vietnam on international commercial flights.

Vietnamese representative agencies are coordinating with relevant agencies of the host countries to ensure maximum safety for the citizens and their families, as well as to create favourable conditions for temporary accommodation and arrange repatriation flights on request.
