VinFast cho biết quyết định đóng cửa văn pḥng nghiên cứu và phát triển Port Melbourne "không ảnh hưởng đến trung tâm thử nghiệm Lang Lang". Công ty cho biết sẽ ra thông báo chính thức với bất kỳ thay đổi nào. CarAdvice dẫn nguồn tin trong ngành cho biết VinFast sắp đóng cửa trung tâm Port Melbourne.
Bộ phận nghiên cứu VinFast tại Úc chủ yếu tập trung vào 3 mẫu xe điện mới có tên VF e34, VF e35 và VF e36. VF e34 được cho là đang thử nghiệm và sẽ ra mắt thị trường Việt Nam vào cuối năm. Các mẫu xe khác của VinFast thiết kế cho thị trường Mỹ, Canada và châu Âu.
Cơ sở vừa đóng cửa tại Port Melbourne, Úc được VinFast khai trương ngày 20/6/2020. Mục tiêu là phát triển các mẫu xe mới, đặt viên gạch đầu tiên cho hành tŕnh tiến ra quốc tế mà công ty ấp ủ.
VinFast đă thuê nhiều chuyên gia người nước ngoài làm việc tại đây. Tiêu biểu là ông Kevin Yardley, từng có hơn 20 năm kinh nghiệm làm việc tại GM, đă tham gia kinh doanh tại nhiều thị trường quốc tế như Úc, Trung Quốc, Ấn Độ.

VinFast phản hồi CarAdvice về việc đóng cửa trung tâm thiết kế tại Port Melbourne.
"Hiện tại, VinFast đang tập trung vào các dự án phát triển xe có sự tham gia của các cơ sở nghiên cứu nước ngoài. Tuy nhiên, đại dịch COVID-19 đă làm cản trở đáng kể sự kết nối và di chuyển giữa các quốc gia. V́ vậy, VinFast đă quyết định tập hợp tất cả lực lượng phát triển xe tại nước ngoài về trụ sở chính tại Việt Nam nhằm tối ưu hóa mọi nguồn lực và tạo điều kiện phối hợp với đội ngũ sản xuất trong khu phức hợp tại Hải Pḥng".
"V́ lư do này, chúng tôi đă tạm thời đóng cửa văn pḥng tại Port Melbourne, Úc, và chuyển toàn bộ nhân viên sang Việt Nam. Đúng là Kevin Yardley đă từ chức. Về việc điều chuyển nhân viên tại văn pḥng Úc sang Việt Nam, chúng tôi sẽ giải quyết mọi vấn đề về pháp lư cho những ai gặp khó khăn".

VinFast said the decision to close the Port Melbourne research and development office "has no effect on the Lang Lang test center". The company said it will issue an official notice with any changes. CarAdvice, citing industry sources, said VinFast was about to close its Port Melbourne hub.
VinFast research in Australia mainly focuses on 3 new electric models named VF e34, VF e35 and VF e36. VF e34 is said to be testing and will launch in Vietnam at the end of the year. Other VinFast models are designed for the US, Canadian and European markets.
The facility just closed in Port Melbourne, Australia was opened by VinFast on June 20, 2020. The goal is to develop new models, laying the first brick for the company's international journey.
VinFast has hired many expat experts to work here. Typically, Mr. Kevin Yardley, who has more than 20 years of experience working at GM, has been involved in business in many international markets such as Australia, China and India.
VinFast responded to CarAdvice about the closure of the design center in Port Melbourne.
