Chiều 5/8, trả lời yêu cầu bình luận về việc Việt Nam nằm trong top 7 nước nhận vaccine Covid-19 nhiều nhất từ Mỹ, Người Phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao Lê Thị Thu Hằng cho biết, theo số liệu, Việt Nam nhận 18 triệu liều vaccine từ nhiều nước đối tác và các tổ chức quốc tế. Trong bối cảnh khan kiếm vaccine, cũng như nhu cầu cao về vaccine tại Việt Nam như hiện nay, Việt Nam đánh giá cao, trân trọng nỗ lực hỗ trợ từ tất cả các quốc gia.

"Chúng tôi rất mong tiếp tục nhận được sự hỗ trợ từ các quốc gia, tổ chức để đẩy nhanh tiến độ tiêm chủng tạo miễn dịch cộng đồng", bà Hằng nói.

Trả lời câu hỏi liên quan đến việc ngoài 500.000 liều vaccine mà Trung Quốc đã tặng cho Việt Nam trước đây, hai nước có còn đang tiếp tục thảo luận về việc Trung Quốc viện trợ vaccine cho Việt Nam không, bà Lê Thị Thu Hằng cho biết, việc chia sẻ kinh nghiệm, nguồn lực, thông tin và công nghệ vaccine trong khu vực là hết sức cần thiết, góp phần vào phòng chống Covid-19, đặc biệt là tại các nước đang phát triển.

"Mọi sự giúp đỡ của các nước trong đại dịch này đặc biệt rất đáng trân trọng. Việt Nam cảm ơn và mong muốn tiếp tục nhận được sự hỗ trợ của các nước, tổ chức trong việc phòng chống Covid-19. Để đa dạng hóa nguồn vaccine, hướng tới lượng vaccine cần thiết sớm đạt mịc tiêu miễn dịch cộng đồng, Việt Nam cố gắng đẩy mạnh việc đàm phán nhập khẩu các loại vaccine để đa dạng hóa nguồn cung vaccine", bà Hằng nhấn mạnh.
