Ứng cử viên tổng thống Mỹ bỏ cuộc là ngay lập tức bị ông Trump chỉ trích. Trump cho rằng O'Rourke là một người khốn khổ, đáng thương sau khi cựu nghị sĩ đảng Dân chủ từ bỏ chiến dịch tranh cử tổng thống.

"O'Rourke bỏ cuộc như một con chó. Ông ta ra đi từ Texas như một tài sản chính trị nóng bỏng và trở lại đó một cách lạnh lẽo. Một tay khốn khổ, đáng thương", Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump phát biểu trong buổi vận động tranh cử ở thành phố Tupelo, bang Mississippi ngày 1/11.

Lời chế giễu của Trump được đưa ra vài giờ sau khi ứng viên Beto O'Rourke của đảng Dân chủ tuyên bố kết thúc chiến dịch tranh cử tổng thống do "không có cách nào đạt được thành công". Cựu nghị sĩ bang Texas O'Rourke từng chỉ trích mạnh mẽ Trump sau vụ xả súng tại El Paso hồi tháng 8 khiến 22 người chết và 24 người bị thương.

Lần gần nhất Trump dùng cụm từ "như một con chó" để ví von là khi nói về cái chết của thủ lĩnh IS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi trong cuộc họp báo tại Nhà Trắng sau chiến dịch đột kích hôm 26/10 của đặc nhiệm Mỹ.

O'Rourke thông báo kết thúc chiến dịch tranh cử tổng thống Mỹ trên Twitter ngày 1/11. "Chiến dịch của chúng tôi hướng tới việc quan sát rơ ràng, lên tiếng trung thực và hành động quyết đoán. Theo tinh thần đó, tôi thông báo sẽ ngừng phụng sự đất nước trên tư cách ứng cử viên hay người được đề cử", O'Rourke viết.

O'Rourke cảm ơn người ủng hộ, lên án chủ nghĩa phân biệt chủng tộc và chỉ trích Trump sử dụng "tư tưởng người da trắng thượng đẳng và bạo lực" để chống lại các cộng đồng khác. Cựu phó tổng thống Joe Biden ca ngợi O'Rourke đă truyền cảm hứng cho rất nhiều người khác.

O'Rourke ra tranh cử tổng thống sau khi thất bại trước thượng nghị sĩ đảng Cộng ḥa Ted Cruz trong cuộc bầu cử giữa kỳ tại Mỹ năm 2018. O'Rourke được ví như Obama do có nhiều điểm tương đồng, tuy nhiên cựu nghị sĩ 47 tuổi gặp khó khăn trong cuộc đua với hơn 20 người khác để trở thành ứng viên đảng Dân chủ trong bầu cử tổng thống Mỹ 2020.

Trong sự kiện tại thành phố Tupelo, Trump mô tả cựu phó tổng thống Mỹ Joe Biden, ứng viên đang chiếm ưu thế của đảng Dân chủ, là một người thiếu tinh thần và "sẽ rơi như một ḥn đá". Đề cập đến cuộc điều tra luận tội của Hạ viện Mỹ, Trump nói đa số "các cử tri giận dữ" sẽ ủng hộ ông.

Thật ra ông O'Rourke rút lui cuộc tranh cử khi cảm thấy yếu thế ở vị trí được chọn làm đại diện mà thôi. Hiện chưa có bất cứ ứng cử viên DC nào được Đảng DC chọn làm đại diện Đảng để đấu với TT Trump của CH.
V́ vậy, có thể TT Trump đă nặng lời và nói sai trọng tâm về đối thủ. Điều này cho thấy các yếu điểm về tự đại và cẩu thả của vị nguyên thủ. Có thể TT Trump nghĩ rằng tất cả Dân Mỹ và thế giới đều thần tượng ông nên không thấy sự việc !!

làm tôi chợt nghĩ ngay đến những (Ông, Ngài, Thằng, lăo)bá hộ của thời phong kiến.

V́ vậy, có thể TT Trump đă nặng lời và nói sai trọng tâm về đối thủ. Điều này cho thấy các yếu điểm về tự đại và cẩu thả của vị nguyên thủ. Có thể TT Trump nghĩ rằng tất cả Dân Mỹ và thế giới đều thần tượng ông nên không thấy sự việc !!
