Lần đầu tiên Tổng Thống Trump tuyên bố về con coronavirus là ngày 22 tháng Giêng -ông trả lời cuộc phỏng vấn của phóng viên Joe Kernen trên đài truyền h́nh CNBC, sau tin một người Mỹ nhuốm bệnh corona.

Trả lời câu hỏi, “Vào thời điểm này, tổng thống có lo ngại một trận dịch coronavirus không?” Tổng thống nói, “Không; tôi chẳng lo ngại tí nào (No. Not at all). Chúng ta hoàn toàn kiểm soát t́nh h́nh. Chỉ có một người từ Trung Quốc vừa đến, chúng ta đang trị bệnh cho người đó. Mọi việc không có ǵ đáng lo.”

Vào lúc tổng thống tuyên bố “nắm vững t́nh h́nh” th́ bệnh Corona đă lan qua 4 lân quốc của Trung Quốc, và chính quyến Trung Quốc đang chuẩn bị biệt lập thành phố Vũ Hán.

Trong những tuần sau đó, tổng thống có nhiều việc cần làm như ra lệnh cho sản xuất thật nhiều bộ test kits dùng để thử nghiệm người t́nh nghi mắc bệnh coronavirus. Ông cũng có thể lên truyền h́nh nói chuyện với quần chúng, hướng dẫn họ cần làm những ǵ để ngừa bệnh, và bảo họ đến đâu để thử nghiệm, nếu thấy có triệu chứng nghi ngờ là vướng bệnh.

Ông không làm ǵ cả.

Tôi (kư giả Leonhardt) kiểm điểm kỹ những lời tuyên bố của tổng thống liên quan đến dịch coronavirus, và không thấy ông nói ǵ, làm ǵ liên quan đến việc pḥng bệnh, trị bệnh. Ưu tiên của ông ta là bóp nhỏ vấn đề lại, coi con vi khuẫn coronavirus chỉ là một yếu tố quấy rối nho nhỏ, và khuyếch đại khả năng của chính phủ, chỉ trích các chính phủ ngoại quốc và chính phủ Obama.

Giờ này khi t́nh h́nh đă đủ nghiêm trọng để không thể tiếp tục phủ nhận nữa, tổng thống đang làm những ǵ ông phải làm từ 2 tháng trước.

Cũng trong ngày 22 tháng Giêng, ngày tổng thống trả lời cuộc phỏng vấn của phóng viên Joe Kernen, ông Tom Frieden, người đă từng làm Giám Đốc Trung Tâm Pḥng Ngừa Bệnh Truyền nhiễm (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ) trong suốt 8 năm, viết một bài báo đăng trên tạp chí y tế Stat, khuyến cáo mọi người là bệnh coronavirus đang bành trướng và “chúng ta cần cấp tốc t́m hiểu về nó.”

Hai cựu viên chức của chính phủ Trump -Luciana Borio và Scott Gottlieb- cũng viết một bài báo khác dưới tựa đề “Act Now to Prevent an American Epidemic,” (bắt tay vào việc ngay để ngăn ngừa một trận dịch xảy ra tại Mỹ) và đăng trên tờ Wall Street Journal; trong bài báo có câu: Nếu các cơ quan y tế công cộng không ngăn chặn sự lây lan sớm, th́ coronavirus có thể lây nhiễm thêm hàng ngàn người trên toàn cầu, làm gián đoạn việc đi lại bằng đường hàng không, áp đảo các hệ thống chăm sóc sức khỏe và tệ nhất là cướp đi nhiều sinh mạng. Tuy nhiên vẫn c̣n có cách để ngăn chặn kết quả buồn thảm đó: kịp thời hành động.”

Nhưng Trump vẫn bảo người Mỹ là không có lư do ǵ để lo lắng cả. Hôm 24 tháng Giêng, ông viết tweeter, “mọi việc sẽ suôn sẻ.”

Hôm 28 tháng Giêng, ông phổ biến một cái tựa của tờ One America News phổ biến một bản tin sai sự thật, “Nhà thuốc Johnson & Johnson sẽ sáng chế ra thuốc chích ngừa coronavirus.”

Ngày 30 tháng Giêng, ông tuyên bố trong bài diễn văn đọc tại Michigan: “Chúng ta kiểm soát chặt chẽ t́nh h́nh. Ngay lúc này Hoa Kỳ chỉ có 5 người bệnh. Họ đang trong t́nh trạng b́nh phục tốt đẹp.”

Cũng trong ngày 30 tháng Giêng đó, tổ chức Y Tế Quốc Tế W.H.O. -World Health Organization- công bố việc 7,818 người nhuốm bệnh coronavirus trên toàn cầu.

Ngày 31 tháng Giêng, Trump có quyết định đầu tiên mang tác dụng pḥng bệnh: ông ra lệnh cấm người ngoại quốc vừa thăm viếng Trung Quốc không được vào lănh thổ Mỹ. Một quyết định rất tốt, nhưng chỉ giới hạn vào người ngoại quốc; người Mỹ từ Trung Quốc trở về vẫn không bị một hạn chế hoặc một ly cách nào cả.

Hai ngày hôm sau ông lên đài Fox News để Sean Hannity phỏng vấn. Trả lời câu hỏi, “Tổng thống quan tâm đến nạn dịch coronavirus đến mức nào?” ông nói, “Chúng ta đă cấm cửa không cho con vi khuẩn coronavirus từ Trung Quốc sang đây nữa. Tương quan của chúng ta với Trung Quốc rất lớn; điều đó tốt. Chúng ta liên quan với Nga cũng rất tốt.”

Trong lúc Trump tuyên bố như vậy th́ số người lây bệnh Corona gia tăng trên toàn cầu, và lên đến 14,557 người- gần gấp đôi số bệnh nhân 3 hôm trước.

Hôm mùng 5 tháng Hai, cơ quan CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) bắt đầu gửi những gói thử nghiệm đến các pḥng thử nghiệm, nhưng những gói đó không sử dụng được, v́ sai lầm trong lúc sản xuất.

Ngày 23 tháng Hai, tổ chức WHO loan báo dịch coronavirus đă lan lây đến 78,811 trường hợp trong 30 quốc gia, Trump vẫn không quan tâm, ông chỉ lo lắng việc thị trường chứng khoán trở thành tệ hơn.

Trên b́nh diện lan lây của bệnh Corona, Trump vẫn lạc quan; hôm 2/26, ông c̣n tuyên bố, “Số bệnh nhân không tăng mà đang giảm xuống rơ rệt.”

Ngày hôm sau, 2/27, ông lại tuyên bố, “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.” (Coronavirus sẽ biến mất. Sẽ có một ngày nó biến mất, giống như một phép lạ.)

Gần 20 năm trước, chính phủ George W. Bush ấn định một bản hướng dẫn cách hành sử của chính phủ trong trường hợp khủng hoảng y tế xảy ra; bản hướng dẫn đó gồm 5 nguyên tắc: “be first,” “be right,” “be credible,” “show respect” and “promote action.”-sớm nhất, đúng nhất, khả tín, kính trọng quần chúng, và hành động.

Trump làm ngược lại cả 5 nguyên tắc này trong việc đối phó với cuộc khủng hoảng coronavirus: sớm nhất trở thành trễ nhất; đúng nhất trở thành trật lấc, khả tín trở thành nói loanh quanh, và hành động trở thành đủng đỉnh.

Hành động mới nhất của tổng thống là bản khuyến cáo ban hành ngày thứ Hai 3/16 trong đó ông khuyên mọi người đừng xê dịch nếu không cần thiết, tránh bars, tránh nhà hàng và những nhóm đông trên 10 người. Tổng thống cũng khuyến cáo công chúng nên ư thức là trận dịch này có thể c̣n kéo dài cho đến mùa Hè.

Việc trường học đóng cửa lại nêu lên vấn đề bữa ăn cho học sinh và đồng lương không đủ nuôi con của những công nhân, phụ huynh học sinh. Nhiều thành phố như Los Angeles và New York vẫn tiếp tục cung cấp thực phẩm cho các em, dù trường học đóng cửa.

Tuy tổng thống khuyến cáo là dịch coronavirus có thể cù nhầy kéo dài đến mùa hè nhưng ai cũng mong là lời tiên đoán của ông One day - it’s like a miracle - it will disappear” trở thành sự thật và thật sớm. Dứt đường tơ với nàng vai rút corona đi thôi.

Càng sớm, càng mừng.

Lăo già DUMP chỉ là 1 tên khoác lác, thùng rỗng kêu to, dối trá, giấu sự thật như mèo giấu cứt. Cứ thấy suốt hơn 3 năm qua, lăo nói láo bao nhiêu ngàn lần, chỉ có giỏi là chuyên đi miệt thị người khác, kỳ thị, và ..... láu cá nhất.
Bị thất bại th́ đỗ thừa tại các vị TT tiền nhiệm, cá tánh mất dạy của lăo DUMP là vậy!
