(abc News) – Thượng nghị sĩ Cộng hoà Susan Collins (Maine) vào hôm thứ Ba cho biết, bà để ngỏ khả năng mời các nhân chứng ra khai trong phiên xét xử luận tội Tổng thống Donald Trump, trong đó có cả các viên chức cao cấp trong chính phủ như Tạm quyền Đổng lư Toà Bạch Ốc Mick Mulvaney.

Tuyên bố của bà Collins được xem là một vết rạn nứt có thể xảy ra trong nội bộ Cộng hoà tại Thượng viện. Lănh tụ Đa số Thượng viện Mitch McConnell, Thượng nghị sĩ Lindsey Graham và một số Thượng nghị sĩ quan trọng cho biết, họ muốn một phiên xét xử ngắn gọn, không cần nhân chứng.

“Tôi mở ngơ khả năng nhân chứng,” bà Collins trả lời khi được hỏi liệu Mulvaney, cựu Cố vấn An ninh Quốc gia John Bolton và những nhân chứng trực tiếp về vấn đề Ukraine có nên ra khai hay không trong buổi phỏng vấn với Maine Public Radio.

Nhưng bà cũng lái ư kiến của ḿnh đến gần với quan điểm của ông McConnell là quyết định về nhân chứng sẽ chờ cho đến sau khi phiên toà diễn ra. “Tôi nghĩ, c̣n quá sớm để quyết định ai nên được mời ra khai cho đến khi chúng tôi nh́n thấy chứng cớ được tŕnh bày và có những câu trả lời cho các câu hỏi mà các thượng nghị sĩ có thể đưa ra đối với cả hai bên thông qua Chánh thẩm,” Thượng nghị sĩ nói thêm.

Khi được hỏi về việc McConnell tuyên bố sẽ hoàn toàn đồng t́nh với Toà Bạch Ốc, Collins bảo rằng, các thượng nghị sĩ lưỡng đảng đă có những phản ứng không phù hợp về phiên xét xử. “Theo đánh giá của tôi, không phù hợp đối với các Thượng nghị sĩ ở bất cứ bên nào vội vă xét đoán chứng cớ trước khi họ được nghe những ǵ tŕnh bày cho chúng tôi, v́ mỗi một chúng tôi sẽ tuyên thệ, một lời thề mà tôi sẽ đưa ra rất nghiêm túc về công lư vô tư,” bà Collins nói.

Thượng nghị sĩ vào hôm thứ Ba thông báo chính thức ra tái tranh cử Thượng nghị sĩ ở Maine. Bà cũng cân nhắc trước ư kiến của đồng nghiệp trung dung, một lá phiếu luận tội có thể thay đổi, đó là Thượng nghị sĩ Cộng hoà Lisa Murkowski. Vào tuần trước, Murkowski cho hay, bà không hơi “phiền ḷng” khi nghe McConnell bảo, ông sẽ phối hợp toàn diện với toán pháp lư của Tổng thống.

Tại cuộc phỏng vấn, Collins được nghe lại các bà và các thượng nghị sĩ khác đă đánh giá phiên xét xử luận tội Tổng thống Bill Clinton vào năm 1999 như thế nào, trong đó Thượng nghị sĩ Cộng hoà Trent Lott và Thượng nghị sĩ Tom Daschle đạt được đồng thuận về quy định xét xử, và sau đó được toàn bộ Thượng viện thông qua.

Một thoả thuận dân sự kiểu như vậy có lẽ sẽ không xảy ra lần này, Collins nói. Mặc dù bà đề nghị ông McConnell nên có cách giải quyết tương tự như phiên xét xử Clinton.

Thượng nghị sĩ Cộng hoà đưa ra ư kiến vào giữa lúc New York Times tung ra tường tŕnh bùng nổ. Theo cuộc điều tra của tờ báo, Ngoại trưởng Mike Pompeo, Bộ trưởng Quốc pḥng Mark Esper và Mulvaney vào tháng 7 đă tổ chức một cuộc họp ở Pḥng Bầu dục. Tại đây, họ hết sức kêu gọi Tổng thống cấp viện trợ quân sự cho Ukraine.

Thượng nghị sĩ Chuck Schumer cho rằng, “những tiết lộ động trời này đă làm thay đổi cuộc chơi,” và cho thấy cần phải có những nhân chứng và tài liệu như Dân chủ yêu cầu.

Bà Nancy xài chiêu này thật lợi hại, với tánh khí so đo,nhỏ nhen của tonton th́ "đêm dài lắm mộng "rất hiệu quả. kiểu này tonton mất ngủ dài dài, đánh golf th́ đánh đâu trật đó hahaha
