Nữ hoàng phá vỡ quy tắc thiêng liêng nhất của ḿnh lần đầu tiên sau 67 năm trị v́. Nữ hoàng vẫn trung lập về chính trị và vô tư kể từ khi bà lên ngôi năm 1952. Và phần c̣n lại của Hoàng gia theo sau, tránh mọi chủ đề có thể ám chỉ liên minh chính trị của họ. Nhưng khi bế tắc Brexit kéo dài vào một cuộc khủng hoảng chưa từng có, một nguồn tin hoàng gia đă tiết lộ ư kiến riêng tư của Nữ hoàng với tờ Thời báo Chủ nhật, cho thấy Nữ Hoàng có thể can thiệp.


Nếu Thủ tướng mất phiếu tín nhiệm và từ chối từ chức, Nữ hoàng có thể băi nhiệm ông. Cung điện Buckingham được cho là đang có cuộc hội đàm với Phố Downing. Gia đ́nh Hoàng gia lo lắng về việc kêu gọi Nữ Hoàng can thiệp nếu ông Boris Johnson đối mặt với một cuộc bỏ phiếu bất tín nhiệm. Thủ tướng mới đă dọa sẽ rời Liên minh châu Âu vào ngày 31 tháng 10 - ngay cả khi không có thỏa thuận. Nhiều nghị sĩ có kế hoạch bỏ phiếu bất tín nhiệm khi quốc hội họp trở lại và muốn Nữ hoàng sa thải ông Boris Johnson nếu không chịu từ chức.


Nữ hoàng được cho là đă mất niềm tin với các nhà lănh đạo chính trị Vương quốc Anh và cách họ điều hành đất nước - đặc biệt là sau ba năm hỗn loạn Brexit. Một nguồn tin hoàng gia tuyên bố Nữ Hoàng đă nói về sự thất vọng của ḿnh đối với các nghị sĩ hàng đầu sau cuộc trưng cầu dân ư rời EU năm 2016.


Nguồn tin nói với Thời báo Chủ nhật: ‘Tôi nghĩ Nữ Hoàng thật sự mất tinh thần. Tôi đă nghe bà ấy nói về sự thất vọng của ḿnh trong giai cấp chính trị hiện tại cũng như không có khả năng cai trị đúng đắn. Bà bày tỏ sự bực tức và thất vọng về chất lượng lănh đạo chính trị của chúng ta, và sự thất vọng đó đăng tăng lên.'


Đă có sự suy đoán rộng răi rằng ông Johnson sẽ cố gắng đóng cửa Nghị viện để tiến hành Brexit không có thỏa thuận, mặc dù các nghị sĩ bỏ phiếu chống lại lựa chọn này vào tháng trước.


Nhiều dấu hiệu mới nhất cho thấy các chính trị gia ở cả hai hàng ghế có thể sớm chuyển sang cầu cứu Nữ hoàng khi họ hết các lựa chọn.
