Ṭa phúc thẩm liên bang Mỹ đang vấp phải sự phản đối quyết liệt của ông Trump khi cơ quan này cho rằng ông vi hiến khi chặn một số người khỏi tài khoản Twitter của ḿnh.

Ṭa phúc thẩm Liên bang Mỹ Khu vực 2 tại New York ra phán quyết vào tháng trước rằng Trump phải bỏ chặn một số người dùng Twitter, giữ nguyên quyết định từ hồi tháng 5 của ṭa cấp thấp hơn. Thẩm phán khẳng định Hiến pháp Mỹ không cho phép Tổng thống chặn một số người khỏi tài khoản mạng xă hội chỉ v́ không bằng ḷng với quan điểm của họ.

Trump yêu cầu ṭa phúc thẩm xử lại trong đơn đệ tŕnh lên ṭa bởi Bộ Tư pháp Mỹ ngày 23/8, gọi quyết định tháng trước của họ là "hiểu sai về cơ bản".

Tài khoản Twitter của Tổng thống Mỹ là @RealDonaldTrump, được lập vào tháng 3/2009, hiện có 63 triệu người theo dơi. Ông thường dùng nó để quảng bá cho các chương tŕnh nghị sự, công kích những người chỉ trích và đối thủ. 7 người dùng Twitter bị ông chặn đă kiện ông ra ṭa.

Twitter là dịch vụ mạng xă hội trực tuyến miễn phí thành lập tháng 3/2006 cho phép người dùng đọc, nhắn và cập nhật các mẩu tin nhỏ gọi là "tweet" với tối đa 280 kư tự. Trụ sở của mạng xă hội này ở San Francisco, California, Mỹ.
