Did the Wisconsin Assembly vote to withdraw Joe Biden's 10 electoral votes? No, that's not true: A Republican representative introduced a resolution that called for "reclaiming" the president's votes. The resolution was referred to an assembly committee, and the chair of that committee said there is "ZERO chance" he'll advance the resolution, which he alternately described as "illegal" and "just plain unconstitutional."

Legislative resolutions in Wisconsin are not submitted to the Governor and are not law. They are used to publicly praise people, make public proclamations and to arrange committees and schedules of the Legislature and to resolve House/Senate disagreements.

The claim appeared in an article (archived here) published by National File on January 26, 2022. Titled "Wisconsin Assembly Unanimously Votes To Withdraw Biden's 2020 Electoral Votes," the article opened:

The Wisconsin Assembly has voted to officially withdraw Joe Biden's 10 electoral votes, citing voter fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election.

The article cited The Gateway Pundit, a pro-Trump website. The Gateway Pundit revised its original article that falsely claimed the Wisconsin assembly voted to withdraw Biden's votes; National File eventually did too.

In reality, what happened was that a single Republican representative, state Rep. Timothy Ramthun, introduced a resolution that called for "reclaiming" the president's "fraudulent" electoral votes. The resolution was referred to the assembly's rules committee, the chair of which said there is "ZERO chance" he will advance the resolution.

State Rep. Jim Steineke, a Republican, took to Twitter to counter the false claims being made about the resolution, writing:
