Cựu tổng thống Obama quay trở lại Việt Nam lần đầu sau khi rời Nhà Trắng, gặp gỡ Bí thư Thành ủy TP HCM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân vào chiều qua 9/12.

15h, Bí thư Nguyễn Thiện Nhân tiếp xã giao cựu Tổng thống Mỹ Barack Obama tại trụ sở Thành ủy TP HCM trên đường Trương Định, quận 3.

Ông Nguyễn Thiện Nhân hoan nghênh chuyến trở lại thăm Việt Nam của cựu tổng thống, khẳng định chuyến thăm Việt Nam lần này của ông Obama và phu nhân thể hiện sự quan tâm sâu sắc đối với quan hệ Việt Nam - Mỹ và sự phát triển của Việt Nam, theo TTXVN.

Ông Nhân đánh giá cao những đóng góp của cá nhân ông Obama trên cương vị tổng thống Mỹ trước đây đối với sự phát triển của quan hệ song phương, đặc biệt trong giai đoạn hai bên thiết lập quan hệ Đối tác toàn diện năm 2013. Người đứng đầu Thành ủy mong muốn ông Obama tiếp tục quan tâm, hỗ trợ thúc đẩy quan hệ giữa hai nước trong thời gian tới, đặc biệt trong bối cảnh hai bên chuẩn bị hướng đến kỷ niệm 25 năm bình thường hóa quan hệ song phương vào năm 2020.

Ông Nguyễn Thiện Nhân nhắc lại sự hỗ trợ của cá nhân ông Obama đối với sự hình thành Đại học Fulbright Việt Nam, đánh giá cao nỗ lực của cựu tổng thống và phu nhân trong việc thúc đẩy giáo dục, nhất là giáo dục cho trẻ em gái; hy vọng Quỹ Obama sẽ tiếp tục triển khai nhiều dự án hỗ trợ phát triển tại các địa phương Việt Nam.

Đáp lời, cựu tổng thống Obama cám ơn Chính phủ Việt Nam và chính quyền TP HCM đã hỗ trợ, phối hợp thu xếp cho chuyến công tác của ông và phu nhân, bày tỏ sự vui mừng khi hai nước tiếp tục duy trì quan hệ tốt đẹp, đánh giá cao những chính sách và kết quả phát triển hiện nay của TP HCM.

Ông Obama cũng khẳng định sẽ tiếp tục vun đắp cho quan hệ Việt Nam - Mỹ, TP HCM - Mỹ, trong khả năng của mình và sẵn sàng làm cầu nối giới thiệu các doanh nghiệp Mỹ đến đầu tư tại Việt Nam và TP HCM, đặc biệt trong lĩnh vực khởi nghiệp sáng tạo. Cựu tổng thống cho biết sẽ thu xếp quay lại TP HCM trong thời gian phù hợp.

Tối qua, cựu tổng thống Mỹ đi bằng phi cơ, hạ cánh xuống sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất, sau đó đến khách sạn 5 sao ở quận 1. Chuyến thăm TP HCM lần này của ông đã được lên kế hoạch trước, lịch trình được thông báo cho lực lượng an ninh phía Việt Nam.

Ông Obama từng đến Việt Nam 3 ngày vào tháng 5/2016 trên cương vị tổng thống Mỹ. Tại TP HCM, cựu tổng thống Mỹ đi thăm chùa Ngọc Hoàng (quận 1), sau đó tham dự buổi gặp gỡ cộng đồng doanh nghiệp Việt Nam và đối thoại trực tiếp với khoảng 800 thủ lĩnh trẻ Việt Nam ở tòa nhà Miss Áo Dài.

Cũng trong hôm nay, cựu đệ nhất phu nhân Mỹ Michelle Obama dẫn đầu đoàn đại biểu Liên minh Cơ hội cho trẻ em (Girls Opportunity Alliance - GOA) đến thăm chương trình hỗ trợ giáo dục nữ sinh tại trường THPT Cần Giuộc (huyện Cần Giuộc, Long An). Tham dự đoàn còn có bà Jenna Bush Hager - con gái cựu Tổng thống Mỹ George W.Bush; các diễn viên Julia Roberts, Ngô Thanh Vân, Lana Condor.

Qui lay xong thi VC noi cam co thi phai nghe theo VC thoi, chu sao bay gio.
