New York Times – Ngoại Trưởng Mexico hôm qua tuyên bố không hề có thỏa thuận di dân bí mật với Hoa Kỳ, trái ngược hẳn với lời của TT Trump trên Twitter là một thỏa thuận đă ‘được kư kết đầy đủ’ và sắp được công bố.

Trong cuộc họp báo ở thủ đô Mexico City, Ngoại Trưởng Marcelo Ebrard nói có một thông báo là hai bên hiểu và lượng giá t́nh h́nh di dân trong những tháng sắp đến.

Ông Ebrard cho biết nếu trong thời gian tới con số di dân vượt biên vào Hoa Kỳ không giảm, hai bên thỏa thuận sẽ nối kết đàm phán về các thay đổi của luật lệ xin tị nạn trong vùng, đưa đến hậu quả lớn lao.

Tuyên bố của ông Ebrard như một câu trả lời chính thức cho nhiều ngày qua khi TT Trump viết liên tục trên Twitter một cách giận dữ về gợi ư là chuyện ông rút lại tăng thuế lên Mexico là nhằm đổi lấy một thỏa thuận yếu ớt về di dân.

TT Trump quả quyết là thỏa thuận đă đạt được với Mexico vào tối thứ sáu tuần trước là một ‘thỏa thuận mạnh mẽ’, hôm qua ông c̣n viết: “Chúng tôi đă kư kết đầy đủ một văn bản về Di Dân và An Ninh với mexico, thỏa thuận mà Hoa Kỳ đă đeo đuổi từ nhiều năm qua”

TT Trump c̣n cho hay ‘văn bản kư kết này sẽ được giới thiệu trong một ngày rất gần và phải được Quốc Hội Mexico bỏ phiếu chuẩn thuận’

Nhưng Ngoại Trưởng Ebrard trong cuộc họp báo lại nói với các kư giả là ‘các viên chức Mexico chỉ bằng ḷng thảo luận thay đổi về luật xin tị nạn nếu như làn sóng di dân không giảm đáng kể trong những tháng kế tiếp’
