Tin từ Washington – Vào hôm thứ Hai (06 tháng 04), tổng thống Trump và đối thủ đảng Dân chủ Joe Biden đă có điện đàm nhằm thảo luận về dịch coronavirus, sau khi cựu phó tổng thống đưa ra đề nghị chia sẻ sáng kiến chống đại dịch của ông với Ṭa Bạch Ốc.


Cả hai bên đều đưa ra các ư kiến tích cực trong cuộc tṛ chuyện kéo dài 15 phút, mà sau đó tổng thống Trump đánh giá là “rất tốt”, và phó giám đốc chiến dịch tranh cử của ông Biden cũng gọi đây là một “cuộc gọi tốt”.

Theo Bloomberg, nhóm vận động tranh cử của ông Biden đă chờ đợi xem có thể liên lạc Ṭa Bạch Ốc hay không, sau khi hồi tuần trước, cả ứng cử viên và tổng thống đều tỏ ư sẵn sàng nói chuyện.

Cố vấn Ṭa Bạch Ốc, Kellyanne Conway lần đầu tiên đề nghị cuộc điện đàm vào tuần trước, dù bà nói chỉ nghe thấy ông Biden chỉ trích về cách giải quyết khủng hoảng của tổng thống.

Ông Biden nhanh chóng đáp lại đề nghị và cũng đưa ra các lời đề nghị mà ông đă nói trong các lần xuất hiện trên truyền h́nh, phát trực tiếp và các tài liệu bằng văn bản về cách chính quyền phản ứng với coronavirus, bao gồm thúc giục tổng thống Trump chú ư đến chỉ dẫn của các chuyên gia y tế công cộng, sử dụng thẩm quyền của ḿnh để thúc đẩy các công ty sản xuất nhiều thiết bị y tế hơn.
