Tôi chưa từng và sẽ không bao giờ hâm mộ John McCain. Đó là chia sẻ từ chính tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump. Mỗi khi có bức xúc ǵ, ông Trump thường chọn Twitter làm nơi xả cơn tức giận.

Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump hôm 18/3 tiếp tục công kích cố Thượng nghị sỹ John McCain - nhà lập pháp kỳ cựu đă qua đời cách đây 7 tháng v́ bệnh ung thư năo, đồng thời tuyên bố ông “chưa từng là người hâm mộ John McCain và sẽ chẳng bao giờ như vậy”.


Cố Thượng nghị sỹ John McCain và Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump.

Phát biểu với báo chí trong cuộc gặp Tổng thống Brazil Jair Bolsonaro tại pḥng Bầu Dục, ông Trump nói: “Như bạn biết đấy tôi không hài ḷng v́ John McCain đă vận động thay thế đạo luật Obamacare trong nhiều năm nhưng khi diễn ra cuộc bỏ phiếu th́ ông ấy chống lại”. Tổng thống Trump cho biết, Quốc hội đă thông qua dự luật thay thế và băi bỏ đạo luật Obamacare được ban hành năm 2010 và điều này sẽ giúp nước Mỹ tiết kiệm được khoảng 1.000 tỷ USD, cũng như có “dịch vụ chăm sóc sức khỏe tuyệt vời”.

Trước khi qua đời vào tháng 8/2018, Thượng nghị sỹ John McCain và Tổng thống Trump thường xuyên nảy sinh bất đồng trong suốt chiến dịch tranh cử cũng như khi ông Trump đă lên nắm quyền.

Trong ḍng Twitter nhằm phản ứng trước những tài liệu mà ṭa án mới công bố thời gian gần đây, Tổng thống Trump đă mỉa mai cố Thượng nghị sĩ đại diện tiểu bang Arizona này “đội sổ” trong khóa học tại Học viện Hải quân Mỹ và cho rằng ông McCain đă gửi hồ sơ chứa những cáo buộc chưa được xác minh về mối quan hệ của ông Trump với Nga cho Cục điều tra liên bang Mỹ (FBI) trước cuộc bầu cử Tổng thống năm 2016.

Tổng thống Trump cũng đăng lại ḍng Twitter của một người ủng hộ ông, có đoạn viết: “Hàng triệu người Mỹ thực sự yêu mến Ngài Trump, chứ không phải ông McCain”.
