Hai tờ báo Mỹ tiết lộ Thứ trưởng Tư pháp từng muốn lật đổ tổng thống Mỹ Trump. Cuộc chiến chống lại Trump được một quan chức Nhà Trắng tiết lộ. Thứ trưởng Tư pháp từng gợi ư nghe lén ông Trump để đảo chính.

New York Times và Washington Post hôm qua đưa tin Thứ trưởng Tư pháp Mỹ Rod Rosenstein hồi tháng 5/2017 đă đề xuất bí mật ghi âm Tổng thống Donald Trump để chứng minh ông không thể quản lư Nhà Trắng, sau đó dùng bằng chứng này để lật đổ Tổng thống.

Các bài báo dựa trên bản ghi bí mật của Andrew McCabe, cựu phó giám đốc Cục Điều tra Liên bang Mỹ (FBI), tổng kết các cuộc thảo luận với Rosenstein. Theo New York Times, Rosenstein đưa ra ư tưởng này vào giai đoạn đặc biệt hỗn loạn, vài tuần sau khi ông được chỉ định làm Thứ trưởng Tư pháp, bởi ông lo ngại trước những bất ổn trong Nhà Trắng dưới thời Trump.

Tuy nhiên, Rosenstein khẳng định các bài báo "sai lệch và hoàn toàn không chính xác". "Tôi chưa bao giờ theo đuổi hoặc cho phép hành vi nghe lén Tổng thống. Bất cứ thông tin nào nói rằng tôi từng ủng hộ việc lật đổ Tổng thống đều hoàn toàn sai", Thứ trưởng nói thêm.

Một cựu quan chức cấp cao giấu tên của Bộ Tư pháp, người tự nhận đă có mặt tại thời điểm Rosenstein đề cập tới ư định nghe lén, nói rằng Thứ trưởng chỉ đang đùa. "Câu nói của Rosenstein chỉ là lời châm biếm và ư định này chưa từng được thảo luận", quan chức cho biết.

Thay v́ làm tổn hại tới Trump, thông tin bị ṛ rỉ được cho là có thể khiến quyền lực của Rosenstein suy yếu, đồng thời ảnh hưởng tới quá tŕnh điều tra cáo buộc Nga can thiệp bầu cử Mỹ năm 2016, bởi Thứ trưởng chịu trách nhiệm giám sát cuộc điều tra. Ông cũng là người chỉ định công tố viên đặc biệt Robert Muller làm người phụ trách.

Thông tin này được đưa ra sau khi nhà báo Bob Woodward xuất bản cuốn sách "Fear: Trump in the White House", tiết lộ những chuyện nội bộ trong Nhà Trắng. Tác giả cho biết các quan chức đang phải "chiến đấu" để kiểm soát một Tổng thống "thất thường".

Trước đó, New York Times cũng đăng bài xă luận của một quan chức Nhà Trắng giấu tên, cho biết các nhân viên chính phủ tỏ ra quan ngại trước những hành vi "vô đạo đức" của Tổng thống và đang nỗ lực ngăn cản những chính sách cực đoan của ông.
