Một triệu 200 ngàn khẩu trang y tế N95 sản xuất từ Trung Quốc sẽ được chở khẩn cấp tới sân bay Logan ở Boston từ sân bay Thâm Quyến (Trung Quốc) trong ngày thứ Năm 2-4-2020. Một tường tŕnh độc quyền của tờ Wall Street Journal cho biết như thế.

Theo Wall Street Journal, với số bệnh nhân COVID-19 tăng lên vùn vụt ở tiểu bang Massachusetts, cộng với sự thiếu hụt các sản phẩm y khoa, tiểu bang Massachusetts đă kêu gọi đến sự trợ giúp khẩn cấp của gia đ́nh Kraft, chủ của nhiều thương hiệu thực phẩm nổi tiếng, đồng thời cũng là chủ của đội bóng bầu dục nhà nghề New England Patriots.

Chỉ trong ṿng chưa đầy một tuần lễ, với sự dàn xếp của tiểu bang Massachusetts và ṭa lănh sự Trung Quốc, nơi đội bóng Patriot rất được ái mộ, một chiếc máy bay mang tên New England Patriots đă đi từ Massachusetts sang Alaska rồi đến Thẩm Quyến để chở khẩu trang. Để thực hiện một chuyến đi nhanh chóng như vậy trong điều kiện đại dịch như hiện nay các nhà tổ chức đă phải chuẩn bị một đội kỹ thuật viên cho máy bay, v́ không thể dựa vào những kỹ thuật viên trên mặt đất, phải dàn xếp với công ty Tencent của Trung Quốc gom và kiểm tra chất lượng khẩu trang N95 trên khắp Trung Quốc, phải xin giấy phép khẩn cấp từ nhà cầm quyền Bắc Kinh,…

Gia đ́nh Kraft đă trả hai triệu USD cho phân nửa trị giá lô hàng. Massachusetts đă đặt một triệu bảy trăm ngàn khẩu trang, nhưng cuối cùng chỉ gom được một triệu 200 ngàn, và chỉ có ba giờ đồng hồ chất hàng lên ở Thẩm Quyến, phi hành đoàn không rời máy bay v́ nếu không phải chịu cách ly hai tuần lễ tại Trung Quốc.
