Trong một cuộc phỏng vấn với Fox News, ông Trump cho biết đã ngăn Chủ tịch Trung Quốc Tập Cận Bình gửi quân đội đến Hong Kong.

"Nếu không phải do tôi, Hong Kong có thể bị xóa sổ trong 14 phút", ông Trump nói. Ông nói thêm: "Một triệu binh sĩ không tiến vào Hong Kong không đi vì tôi nói: 'Làm ơn đừng làm thế. Bạn sẽ phạm một sai lầm lớn. Nó sẽ có tác động tiêu cực rất lớn đến thỏa thuận thương mại."

Những bình luận của ông Trump được đưa ra khi ông đang xem xét việc ký phê chuẩn dự luật về Hong Kong. Lưỡng viện Mỹ đã lần lượt thông qua dự luật ủng hộ nhân quyền ở Hong Kong. Theo dự luật, Ngoại trưởng Mỹ hàng năm có trách nhiệm chứng nhận Hong Kong duy trì quyền tự quyết để đặc khu hưởng ưu đãi thương mại với Mỹ. Dự luật còn cho phép cấm vận các quan chức bị coi là vi phạm nhân quyền tại Hong Kong.

Khi được hỏi liệu ông có phủ quyết dự luật hay không, ông Trump không nói rõ. "Tôi sẽ nói với bạn rằng chúng ta phải sát cánh với Hong Kong nhưng tôi cũng đang đứng với Chủ tịch Tập. Điều quan trọng là phải đàm phán về thỏa thuận thương mại".

Hôm 14/8, Tổng thống Trump từng nói Trung Quốc muốn tiến tới một thỏa thuận thương mại trước nên đối xử với Hong Kong "một cách nhân đạo". Theo Reuters, ông Trump rõ ràng đã gắn thỏa thuận thương mại với một giải pháp hòa bình cho các cuộc biểu tình ở Hong Kong.

Cũng trong cuộc phỏng vấn, ông Trump nói rằng Washington và Bắc Kinh có thể đang tiến gần thỏa thuận thương mại một phần nhưng nhắc lại rằng ông không vội trong việc ký kết.

Trong khi đó, cùng ngày, Chủ tịch Tập Cận Bình nói họ muốn có một thỏa thuận nhưng "không ngại đáp trả nếu cần".

Những tuyên bố của ông Trump vẫn chưa thể làm rõ liệu hai bên trên thực tế có đạt được tiến bộ nào không trong việc hoàn thiện "giai đoạn một" của quá trình đàm phán thương mại, thứ mà ông Trump công bố tháng trước hay không.

Căng thẳng tại Hong Kong gần đây leo thang khi người biểu tình chiếm đóng các trường đại học, trong đó có trường Đại học Bách khoa Hong Kong từ 17/11. Cảnh sát vây bên ngoài trường trong hơn 4 ngày, sử dụng đạn cao su, hơi cay và vòi rồng để ngăn người biểu tình thoát ra ngoài.

Khoảng 1.100 người biểu tình bị bắt tại Đại học Hong Kong trong hai ngày 18-19/11.

Hàng trăm người đã thoát ra ngoài thành công hoặc tự động nộp mình cho cảnh sát. Tuy nhiên, đến ngày 22/11, vẫn còn khoảng 100 người mắc kẹt bên trong vòng vây của lực lượng chức năng.

Tui chỉ nói chơi về chuyện tiếu lâm của con số 14. Là 14 phút chứ không phải 15 phút. Tại sao không nói chẵn 15, 30 phút, mà phải là 14 phút?

Trong tâm lý học có một phương pháp không dùng con số tròn, là phương pháp cải lương nhất nhưng lại đạt được hiệu ứng mạnh khi đem ra bịp những tay mơ còn non nớt.

Như trong trại lính CSVN mà thủ trưởng đứng lên nạt đám tân binh đầu trọc mới gia nhập rằng:

- "Các đồng chí chuẩn bị tập hợp quanh cột cờ, 10 phút sau tôi sẽ đến kiểm tra!"

Thì đám lính mới sẽ nghĩ rằng KHOẢNG 10 phút sau, là nhắm chừng thời gian đại khái ông ta sẽ ghé đến. Họ có thể từ từ uống nước mặc đồ mang giày, 9 phút hoặc 11 phút sau có đến đó cũng không sao.

Nhưng nếu gã thủ trưởng không nói chẵn như vậy, mà vẽ ra một con số lẻ "huyền hoặc giả tạo" như thế này:

- "Các đồng chí chuẩn bị tập hợp quanh cột cờ, 8 phút 30 giây sau tôi sẽ đến kiểm tra!"

Là đám lính non XANH MẶT liền. Giờ quân đội chính xác khủng khiếp quá! Thủ trưởng này hiểu biết và kinh nghiệm đầy mình, he said it and he meant it! Thế là 8 phút 30 giây sau bầy khỉ có mặt đầy đủ chuẩn bị leo lên cột cờ.

Thực sự thì ông cố nội gã thủ trưởng cũng không có khái niệm khác biệt giữa 00:08:30 và 00:10:00 là bao nhiêu, biết đách gì mà xạo. Nhưng đủ cho đàn gà con thán phục khiếp sợ là được rồi.

Trung Cộng bố sạch Hong Kong trong bao lâu, Hứa Kỳ Lượng, phó chủ tịch quân ủy trung ương quân đội vũ trang Trung Quốc cũng không biết chắc. Bắt ổng nhắm chừng thì sẽ đành nói đại hai tiếng, sáu tiếng vv... Nghe ai bịp bợm giả như đã có tính toán hiểu biết thâm sâu, đưa ra con số 14 phút, gã Hứa này chắc là cười tắt thở!
