Ông Chuck Park, nhân viên Bộ Ngoại giao Mỹ đă làm việc tại cơ quan này 10 năm qua, hôm 8/8 xin nghỉ việc v́ không thể tiếp tục "biện minh cho Trump".

Trong đơn xin nghỉ việc, Park cho hay trong một thập kỷ làm việc ở nước ngoài với tư cách là nhân viên Bộ Ngoại giao Mỹ, ông đă "cống hiến để truyền bá những ǵ là ông tin là giá trị Mỹ: tự do, công bằng và bác ái". "Nhưng càng ngày tôi càng thấy ḿnh trong tư thế bị động, chật vật để giải thích với người nước ngoài về những thứ trái ngược ở quê nhà", Park viết.

Park nói rằng sau khi Tổng thống Donald Trump đắc cử, ông đă cố gắng "tự đè nén bản thân" và "để công việc lấn át tiếng nói của lương tâm".

"Tôi đă để việc được ở nhà công vụ, đếm ngược cho đến ngày nhận lương hưu và niềm kiêu hănh đại diện cho một quốc gia hùng mạnh ở nước ngoài lấn át những lư tưởng từng rất rơ ràng với ḿnh. Tôi không thể làm điều đó nữa".

Park nói rằng con trai ông sinh ra ở El Paso, nơi vừa xảy ra vụ xả súng vào một siêu thị làm 22 người thiệt mạng. Ông cho rằng bản tuyên ngôn của tay súng mang âm hưởng từ những phát ngôn gây chia rẽ của Tổng thống Trump.

"Tôi không thể tiếp tục biện minh cho Donald Trump hoặc chính tôi, sự đồng lơa của tôi với các hành động của chính quyền Trump. Đó là lư do tại sao tôi từ chức", Park viết.

Trong một email gửi CNN, Park cho hay ông đưa ra quyết định từ chức trước khi vụ xả súng ở El Paso diễn ra. Ông kỳ vọng sự thay đổi sẽ đến từ các cử tri Mỹ trong cuộc bầu cử năm 2020.

Hai vụ xả súng gây chấn động ở El Paso, Texas và Dayton, Ohio hồi cuối tuần trước khiến 31 người thiệt mạng và hàng chục người bị thương, làm dấy lên những tranh căi về bạo lực súng đạn vốn nhức nhối ở Mỹ.

Không ít quan chức, chủ yếu là các thành viên Dân chủ, cáo buộc Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump thời gian qua có những phát ngôn phân biệt chủng tộc, gây chia rẽ. Tuy nhiên, Trump phủ nhận điều này.

ôi thôi vậy cũng được, tui khỏi phải tốn tiền chuyển.

Đợt rồi tui cũng có ủng hộ, mà không biết Trum c̣n nhớ không?
