Chỉ sau 1 ngày tái tranh cử, ông Trump quyên góp được số tiền cao kỷ lục. Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump bỏ xa các ứng viên c̣n lại trong việc huy động quỹ cho chiến dịch tranh cử năm 2020.

"Donald Trump đă phá vỡ kỷ lục với 24,8 triệu USD tiền quyên góp trong ṿng 24 giờ đầu tiên khởi động chiến dịch tái tranh cử", Chủ tịch Ủy ban quốc gia đảng Cộng ḥa (RNC) Ronna McDaniel viết trên Twitter hôm qua.

Bà Daniel nhấn mạnh rằng sự ủng hộ nhiệt t́nh trên khắp nước Mỹ dành cho Tổng thống lần này là "vô song" và "không giống bất cứ điều ǵ đă từng thấy", đồng thời nhắc lại khẩu hiệu chiến dịch tái tranh cử của Trump "Giữ nước Mỹ vĩ đại".

Brad Parscale, quản lư chiến dịch tranh cử của Trump năm 2020, cũng dẫn lại thông tin trên và bày tỏ sự ủng hộ với Tổng thống. Tim Murtaugh, giám đốc truyền thông chiến dịch tranh cử của Trump c̣n tính toán rằng Tổng thống huy động được trung b́nh hơn một triệu USD mỗi giờ trong ngày 19/6, đồng thời bày tỏ vui mừng trước sự ủng hộ của cử tri dành cho Trump.

Theo Politico, số tiền Trump quyên góp được trong 24 giờ gây quỹ đầu tiên vượt xa ứng viên tổng thống hàng đầu của đảng Dân chủ, cựu phó Tổng thống Joe Biden, người nhận được 6,3 triệu USD.

Trump tối 18/6 tuyên bố khởi động chiến dịch tái tranh cử Tổng thống Mỹ năm 2020 tại hội trường chật kín người ở Orlando, bang Florida. Ông nêu khẩu hiệu "Giữ nước Mỹ vĩ đại" trong chiến dịch tranh cử lần này và tự tin rằng ḿnh sẽ tạo nên "một trận động đất tại thùng phiếu" vào năm tới.

Các cuộc thăm ḍ gần đây cho thấy Tổng thống Trump có khả năng cao giành chiến thắng trong cuộc bầu cử năm 2020 do lợi thế đương nhiệm và các chỉ số phát triển kinh tế ấn tượng trong nhiệm kỳ. Cuộc thăm ḍ được Đại học Suffolk công bố hôm qua cho thấy 49% người được hỏi tin rằng Trump sẽ tái đắc cử, trong khi 38% cho rằng chiến thắng trong cuộc bầu cử tổng thống năm tới sẽ thuộc về ứng viên đảng Dân chủ.
