John Cornyn, Thượng nghị sĩ Cộng Ḥa ở Texas, bắt đầu chỉ trích Trump khi trả lời phỏng vấn của báo Fort Worth Star-Telegram: "Khi tôi có dị biệt ư kiến, và tôi đă có, tôi đă nói riêng [với Trump]."

Như thế Cornyn là dân cử mới nhất trong làn sóng tách rời khỏi Trump v́ lo sợ mất phiếu cử tri.

Trước Cornyn là Thượng nghị sĩ Ben Sasse (Cộng Ḥa-NE) đă chỉ trích Trump trong buổi họp phố trực tuyến với 17,000 người tham dự. Trước đó, TNS Martha McSally (Cộng Ḥa-AZ) đă từ chối trả lời câu hỏi rằng bà có "tự hào" v́ ủng hộ Trump trong một buổi tranh luận tháng 10, và tương tự là TNS Susan Collins (Cộng Ḥa-ME) — người liên tục từ chối trả lời phóng viên câu hỏi bà sẽ bầu cho ai, Trump hay Biden, trong bầu cử tháng 11/2020.

chuyện cũng b́nh thường thôi tiểu bang Texas (chứ không phải bang nghe bây) có 2 thượng nghị sĩ Ted Cruz và cha nội nầy đều thuộc đảng cộng hoà.Ted Cruz là người được TT Trump quan tâm nhiều hơn nên cha nội nầy đổ quạo chứ có ǵ đâu.
