Chiều nay, tổng biên tập tạp chí Christian Today thay mặt BBT (Editorial) đă viết một bài luận ủng hộ việc truất phế Trump. Đây là một tin đang thu hút sự chú ư của nhiều người, bởi Christian Today là tạp chí hàng đầu của nhóm Kito giáo Tin lành (Evangelicals) - là nhóm ủng hộ lớn nhất hơn 80% & trung thành nhất của trump (chiếm khoảng 25% tổng số cử tri Mỹ). Christianity Today có ảnh hưởng lớn đối với các tín đồ Tin lành, với 4,3 triệu người truy cập trang web hàng tháng và hàng trăm ngàn người đăng kư mua báo in.

Hy vọng một số người sẽ thức tỉnh sau khi đọc bài luận này. Tuy nhiên, không dám hy vọng nhiều, bởi v́ một khi con người ta đă cuồng rồi th́ Cha Chú c̣n “đấu tố” được, huống chí một tờ báo.

Ḿnh lược dịch những đoạn quan trọng sau:

Chúng tôi tin rằng các phiên điều trần luận tội đă làm rơ, điều mà cuộc điều tra Mueller đă không làm được, rằng Tổng thống Trump đă lạm dụng quyền lực của ḿnh để TRỤC LỢI CÁ NHÂN & PHẢN BỘI LỜI THỀ HIẾN PHÁP. Các phiên điều trần luận tội đă làm sáng tỏ sự vô đạo đức của tổng thống. Điều này làm tổn hại đến thể chế tổng thống, làm tổn hại danh tiếng của đất nước chúng ta, và làm tổn hại cả tinh thần và tương lai của dân tộc. KHÔNG một điều ǵ trong số các các điều tốt mà Trump làm có thể cân bằng được mối nguy hiểm về đạo đức và chính trị mà chúng ta phải đối mặt trước một nhà lănh đạo có tính cách vô đạo đức kinh khủng như vậy.

Chúng tôi tin rằng việc ông Trump bị truất phế không phải là vấn đề về ḷng trung thành đảng phái, mà là sự trung thành với Đấng tạo nên Mười Điều Răn.

Đối với nhiều tín đồ Tin Lành tiếp tục ủng hộ ông Trump bất chấp hồ sơ đạo đức bị bôi đen của ông, chúng tôi có thể nói điều này: Hăy nhớ bạn là ai và bạn phục vụ ai.
