Quốc gia có chỉ số càng cao thì càng tiến gần tới trạng thái phục hồi với số ca nhiễm Covid-19 thấp, tỷ lệ tiêm vaccine cao và/hoặc ít phải áp dụng các biện pháp giãn cách xã hội nghiêm ngặt hơn.


Theo Nikkei Asia, Việt Nam, từng là “ngôi sao” khi kiểm soát dịch bệnh thành công kể từ khi dịch bùng phát cho tới cuối tháng 6, giờ đây ghi nhận số ca nhiễm và tử vong vì Covid-19 kỷ lục. Trong tuần cuối tháng 8, Việt Nam ghi nhận hơn 87.000 ca nhiễm Covid-19 mới, trong đó gần 40% ở TPHCM - cũng là nơi chiếm khoảng 80% tổng số ca tử vong toàn quốc. Với việc Việt Nam áp dụng các biện pháp về sức khỏe cộng đồng giãn cách xã hội nghiêm ngặt ở nhiều thành phố lớn, Nikkei Asia xếp Việt Nam ở cuối bảng về Chỉ số Phục hồi Covid-19.


Xếp thứ hai từ cuối lên, Philippines tụt 14 bậc so với xếp hạng hồi tháng 7. Ngày 30/8, quốc gia đông Nam Á này ghi nhận kỷ lục 22.366 ca nhiễm mới giữa làn sóng dịch bệnh mới do biến thể Delta. Trung bình 7 ngày qua, nước này có hơn 17.700 ca nhiễm mới. Khu vực thủ đô Manila và một số tỉnh khác của Philippines đang áp dụng các biện pháp hạn chế phòng dịch ở mức nghiêm ngặt cao thứ hai cho tới ngày 7/9.
