Dân biểu Marjorie Taylor Greene đă khiến các đồng nghiệp của ḿnh khó chịu bằng cách áp dụng một chiến thuật ngăn chặn thủ tục không có kết quả để buộc phải bỏ phiếu kéo dài.

Marjorie Taylor Greene tỏ ra nhầm lẫn lănh thổ Hoa Kỳ Guam với một nước ngoài như Nga hoặc Trung Quốc.

Trong một video mới xuất hiện của CPAC, bà Greene đă gộp Guam với các đối thủ cạnh tranh nước ngoài lớn của Hoa Kỳ khi bà kêu gọi các đồng đô la thuế khó kiếm được của người Mỹ được chi tiêu tại nhà ở Mỹ, không phải "bất cứ nơi nào".

Văn pḥng thống đốc Guam cho biết sẽ rất "vui mừng" nếu gửi cho cô Greene một bản sao của "Destiny's Landfall: A History of Guam".

Lời đề nghị được đưa ra trên tờ The Guam Daily Post sau bài phát biểu của bà Greene từ Hội nghị hành động chính trị của đảng Bảo thủ, trong đó bà kêu gọi Mỹ ngừng gửi viện trợ ra nước ngoài. Trong khi bài phát biểu được đưa ra vào ngày 27 tháng 2, video đă bắt đầu phát các ṿng trên YouTube trong tuần này.

"Tôi là một người b́nh thường, b́nh thường. Và tôi muốn lấy những giá trị b́nh thường - b́nh thường của người Mỹ hàng ngày, đó là: chúng tôi yêu đất nước của ḿnh. Chúng tôi tin rằng những đồng tiền thuế khó kiếm được của chúng tôi chỉ nên dành cho nước Mỹ - chứ không phải để làm ǵ, Trung Quốc, Nga, Trung Đông, Guam - bất cứ điều ǵ, bất cứ nơi nào, "bà Greene nói.

"Nếu chúng ta muốn xây đường, nếu chúng ta muốn đổ tiền vào trường học, nếu chúng ta muốn xây những bức tường biên giới, th́ chúng ta muốn nó ngay tại nhà. Điều này thật dễ dàng với tôi; thật dễ dàng với chúng tôi, nhưng nó không dễ dàng với Washington . "

Với khoảng 170.000 cư dân đóng thuế liên bang, Guam là một phần của Hoa Kỳ kể từ năm 1899 và những người sinh ra trên lănh thổ này đă trở thành công dân kể từ năm 1950.

Đại biểu Hạ viện của Guam, Michael San Nicolas nói: “Dân biểu Greene là một thành viên mới, và chúng tôi sẽ đến thăm bà và gửi tặng những chiếc bánh quy Chamorro Chip Cookies thơm ngon như một phần trong kế hoạch tiếp cận với các thành viên mới để giới thiệu họ đến ḥn đảo Guam tuyệt vời của chúng tôi”.

Cựu chủ tịch Đảng Cộng ḥa của Guam, Phil Flores, nói với tờ Post rằng ông đă cố gắng gọi điện cho bà Green nhưng không có kết quả và thay vào đó, ông để lại tin nhắn với một trợ lư văn pḥng.

"Tôi đă nói Guam là một phần của nước Mỹ. Chúng tôi đă sống được 122 năm", ông nói với tạp chí này.

"Thỉnh thoảng bạn lại thấy nó, 'Guam đâu?' Và rơ ràng, chúng tôi không mong đợi được biết đến nhiều ở đại lục như California hay New York, nhưng nhiều người nên biết về phần tuyệt vời này của nước Mỹ. "

Rồi lại c̣n đ̣i xây vách tường "Colorado Mexico Wall" nữa mới chết! Mà Colorado th́ nằm trọn bên trong USA chẳng có dính đường biên giới với nước nào khác.

Nghe tên New Mexico th́ cứ tưởng là của Mexico luôn, xung phong xây dựng tường vách!

Ai chưa đọc qua các chuyện đó th́ google các câu màu đậm ở trên sẽ thấy.

Nh́n không ra hả?

Tuy đúng là có rất nhiều người Mỹ lầm lẫn D.C. và State lung tung lên...

Nhưng họ chỉ là dân thường, và nhiều người chính họ cũng nhận rằng ḿnh không biết.

Khác với một mụ hùng hổ lên TV đứng ra nói chuyện thay mặt cho Đảng, vác súng chạy tứ tung đ̣i tiêu diệt ai chống lại ư kiến của ḿnh.

Hay là một tổng thống vẽ ra kế hoạch lấy tiền tỉ đổ vào một công tŕnh xây dựng, mà sự hiểu biết liên quan đến chuyện đó, th́ lại thua một người dân không biết Washington nằm ở đâu.
