Theo NBC News, chính quyền xác nhận đă bắt giữ 3 thiếu niên vào hôm thứ Tư (06 tháng 05), sau khi bị t́nh nghi liên quan đến vụ người phụ nữ Hoa Kỳ gốc Á Châu bị chế giễu, và bị nghi can nhảy lên, tung một cú đá vào mặt ở ga xe lửa ở Minnesota vào nửa đêm thứ Hai (04/05/2020).


Sự việc diễn ra ở Saint Paul, Minnesota và xuất hiện trong video được đăng lên mạng xă hội. Vào thời điểm đó không có xe lửa hoạt động, và sở cảnh sát giao thông hỏa xa vẫn chưa xác nhận lư do tại sao những người này có mặt ở ga xe lửa.

Phát ngôn viên của sở quản trị giao thông hỏa xa, Howie Padilla cho hay các điều tra viên đă sử dụng đoạn video đó, và một số camera an ninh ở các ga xe lửa để xác định vụ tấn công xảy ra ở nhà ga nào, và họ đă xác định 3 nghi can, gồm hai người 15 tuổi và mộ người 14 tuổi. Ông không b́nh luận về việc liệu vụ tấn công có phải xuất phát từ việc kỳ thị chủng tộc hay không, nhưng vụ án đă được thông báo cho văn pḥng biện lư quận Ramsey để đưa ra cáo buộc. Ngoài ra ông cũng không cho biết nạn nhân có bị thương tích hay cần chăm sóc y tế hay không.

Sự việc diễn ra giữa thời điểm có một loạt các vụ tấn công nhắm vào người Mỹ gốc Á trong những tháng gần đây, do họ bị đổ lỗi khiến coronavirus lây lan. Trong khoảng thời gian chỉ bốn tuần bắt đầu từ gần cuối tháng 3, trung tâm báo cáo STOP AAPI HATE cho biết họ đă nhận được gần 1,500 báo cáo về hành vi kỳ thị người Mỹ gốc Á do coronavirus.

chính mắt tui thấy .. cách đây mấy tháng có một thằng đội nón mề gà vừa buớc vô mc donald là bị dân tống cổ nó ra .. huống chi nguởi thấy cái mùi của dump vừa xuống xe là bị ăn đập rồi
