Đợt đóng cửa chính phủ Mỹ dài nhất trong lịch sử nước này do sự đối đầu giữa Tổng thống và các nhà lập pháp, khiến các tiệm làm nail của người gốc Việt ở thành phố Salt Lake phải chịu thiệt hại lớn về doanh thu sụt giảm từ khách hàng viên chức chính phủ.

Tiệm làm móng WaterCreek Nails&Spa ở thành phố Salt Lake, bang Utah, Mỹ cho biết doanh thu sụt giảm vì nhiều khách hàng của họ là viên chức chính phủ, những người phải làm việc không lương suốt một tháng qua do chính phủ đóng cửa, theo ABC 4.

"Nếu họ không có thu nhập để đáp ứng nhu cầu sinh hoạt, họ sẽ không thể đến chỗ chúng tôi làm móng tay, móng chân", nhân viên Sabrina Nguyễn nói.

Khi nhóm phóng viên của đài truyền hình địa phương đến ghi hình, mọi nhân viên đều có mặt ở tiệm, trong khi đó, có rất ít khách hàng. "Bình thường không có một chỗ trống. Giờ đây chúng tôi chỉ tiếp một hoặc hai khách một lúc", Sabrina Nguyễn trả lời phóng viên. "Các bàn làm móng lúc này đều trống trơn, việc kinh doanh đang đi xuống".

Nhân viên làm móng gốc Việt nói tình hình kinh doanh ảm đảm ảnh hưởng đến kế sinh nhai của các gia đình. "Giống như hiệu ứng domino", cô nói. "Chúng tôi gần như chẳng kiếm được đồng nào".

Theo Sabrina Nguyễn, việc chính phủ Mỹ đóng cửa là "không cần thiết" và "gây đau khổ". Cô hy vọng các nghị sĩ quốc hội sẽ tìm ra giải pháp để chấm dứt tình trạng này. "Thật không công bằng với người Mỹ chúng tôi", cô nói. "Chúng tôi bị mắc kẹt trong mớ hỗn độn mà chúng tôi không mong muốn".

Các nghị sĩ Mỹ hôm 25/1 đạt được thỏa thuận tạm thời mở cửa lại chính phủ sau 35 ngày ngừng hoạt động do bất đồng về ngân sách xây tường biên giới. Tuy nhiên, cuộc đối đầu giữa Tổng thống Donald Trump và đảng Dân chủ vẫn chưa kết thúc khi ông Trump chỉ ký duyệt cấp ngân sách cho các cơ quan liên bang hoạt động đến ngày 15/2 và đe dọa sẵn sàng đóng cửa chính phủ lần nữa.

Đợt đóng cửa dài nhất trong lịch sử nước Mỹ bắt đầu từ hôm 22/12 sau khi Hạ viện không duyệt chi ngân sách 5,7 tỷ USD để xây tường biên giới theo yêu cầu của Tổng thống Trump.

Mùa Đông có ai muốn mang dép ra đường khoe móng làm gì. Mùa này tiệm nail ế là chuyện bình thường, vậy mà cũng bày chuyện ra nói. Đám chủ nail ế là vì chính phủ đóng cửa nên không lãnh tiền trợ cấp và food stamp tháng rồi, vì vậy mà có chút....bực bội trong người.
Chuyện nào ra chuyện đó, không phải cứ thấy ai làm bậy cũng quậy làm theo thì khó coi lắm.

thời gian sau sẽ dư xây bức tường, mấy pa má làm cho chính phủ bao lâu hưởng phước cũng đã rồi.
