Theo một quan chức Nhà Trắng và nguồn tin an ninh, Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump đă được đưa xuống boongke ngầm khi những người biểu t́nh tập trung bên ngoài Nhà Trắng, mà ông Trump ở trong boongke ngầm trong gần một giờ vào tối 29/5. Đệ nhất phu nhân Melania Trump và con trai Barron cũng được đưa xuống boongke ngầm.

Giới chức trong Ṭa Bạch Ốc nói với tờ Times rằng họ không hề nghĩ tổng thống đang bị nguy hiểm nhưng tiến hành đưa ông xuống hầm trú ẩn để pḥng ngừa.

CNN dẫn lời giới chức cho biết tổng thống ở dưới hầm khoảng 1 giờ đồng hồ.

Lực lượng vệ binh quốc gia được điều động vào thủ đô Washington theo lệnh của Ngũ Giác Đài nhằm giữ an ninh cho Ṭa Bạch Ốc.

Tổng Thống Trump chỉ trích Thị Trưởng Muriel Bowser, Washington DC, từ khước đưa cảnh sát thủ đô về giữ an ninh tại Ṭa Bạch Ốc, nhưng sau đó Sở Mật Vụ bảo vệ tổng thống lại báo cáo ngược lại là cảnh sát DC đă có mặt từ đầu.

Cũng trong tối hôm đó, Tổng Thống Trump tung ra hàng loạt tin nhắn có nội dung mạng tính đe dọa và kích động, ít giờ sau khi người biểu t́nh tập trung bên ngoài Ṭa Bạch Ốc và có cuộc đối đầu với cảnh sát vơ trang chống bạo loạn

Trong một loạt các tin nhắn được gửi ra, Tổng Thống Trump tỏ sự khinh thường họ, gọi những người biểu t́nh này là những kẻ được “điều khiển một cách chuyên nghiệp,” dù rằng ông không đưa ra bằng chứng.

Tổng Thống Trump c̣n có vẻ tỏ sự khiêu khích người biểu t́nh hăy kéo tới, với bản tweet nói rằng: “Tối nay, tôi nghe nói là TỐI MAGA Ở T̉A BẠCH ỐC phải không???”

Tuy nhiên, sau đó, ông Trump bác bỏ cáo buộc nói rằng ông t́m cách xúi giục có sự đối đầu giữa người biểu t́nh và giới ủng hộ ông, nói rằng “Tôi chỉ hỏi vậy thôi. Tôi không biết là thành phần MAGA có đến hay không. Nhưng họ yêu mến người Mỹ gốc Phi Châu. Họ yêu mến người da đen.”

Phản ứng trước những tin nhắn trên của tổng thống, bà Keisha Lance Bottoms, thị trưởng thành phố Atlanta, Georgia, kêu gọi Tổng thống Donald Trump “đừng nói nữa” trước t́nh cảnh hàng loạt cuộc biểu t́nh tại hàng chục thành phố nước Mỹ nổ ra phản đối cái chết của George Floyd ở Minneapolis.

Xuất hiện trong chương tŕnh “Face the Nation” vào Chủ Nhật, 31 Tháng Năm, vị nữ thị trưởng lên tiếng: “Tới một lúc nào đó chúng ta không nên nói nữa, và lúc này chính là thời điểm đó.”

Bà nói tiếp, “Tổng thống làm mọi chuyện tệ hại hơn. Ở đây không phải là chỗ giải quyết bằng sức mạnh quân sự. Đây là nước Mỹ. Chúng ta đang ở trong một giai đoạn biến động của đất nước, và luận điệu của tổng thống chỉ làm bùng lên ngọn lửa, và đôi khi ông ta nên biết dừng lại, đừng nói nữa.” (MPL)
