Đài WFLA ngày 5.9 đưa tin một bà cụ 116 tuổi ở Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ đă hồi phục sau khi mắc Covid-19, trở thành một trong những bệnh nhân lớn tuổi nhất đánh bại căn bệnh đang hoành hành tại nhiều nơi trên thế giới.
Bà Ayse Karatay hiện đă được chuyển qua khu b́nh thường tại bệnh viện, theo con trai bà là ông Ibrahim.
“Mẹ tôi ngă bệnh ở tuổi 116 và ở khoa chăm sóc tăng cường trong 3 tuần. Sức khỏe của bà hiện rất tốt và bà đang khỏe dần”, ông cho biết.
Bà Ayse sống tại thị trấn Emirdag thuộc tỉnh Afyonkarahisar ở phía tây Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ. Bà nhập viện sau khi có triệu chứng và kết quả xét nghiệm cho thấy bà mắc Covid-19.
Ông Ibrahim cho hay bà chỉ mới tiêm một mũi vắc xin Covid-19 trước khi bệnh, và có thể đă nhiễm từ một người thân trong gia đ́nh.
Bà Ayse ra đời dưới đế chế Ottoman, thời điểm ít người ghi lại chính xác ngày sinh.
Trước đó vào tháng 2, sơ Andre người Pháp đă hồi phục sau khi mắc Covid-19, chỉ vài ngày trước sinh nhật lần thứ 117.

Ayse Karatay has now been transferred to the normal ward at the hospital, according to her son Ibrahim.
“My mother fell ill at the age of 116 and was in the intensive care unit for three weeks. Her health is very good now and she is getting better,” he said.
Ayse lives in the town of Emirdag in Afyonkarahisar province in western Turkey. She was hospitalized after showing symptoms and test results showed she had Covid-19.
Mr. Ibrahim said she had only had one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before getting sick, and may have contracted it from a family member.
Ayse was born under the Ottoman Empire, a time when few people recorded the exact date of birth.
Earlier in February, French Sister Andre had recovered from Covid-19, just days before her 117th birthday.
