SACRAMENTO, California (NV) – Trong chuyến thị sát t́nh h́nh cháy rừng tại California của Tổng Thống Donald Trump, một giới chức về môi trường tiểu bang California cố dẫn bằng chứng khoa học cho thấy t́nh trạng nóng kỷ lục xảy ra tại tiểu bang California trong thời gian gần đây đưa đến thảm họa cháy rừng, sau khi nhà lănh đạo quốc gia cười nhạt nói rằng “nhiệt độ sẽ tự động xuống.”

“Bây giờ đă bắt đầu mát rồi. Cứ chờ đi,” Tổng Thống Trump đáp lời ông Wade Crowfoot, bộ trưởng Tài Nguyên tiểu bang, theo đài CNBC.

Tổng thống đưa ra câu nói trên trong cuộc họp bàn tṛn tại McLellan Park, California, khi ông đến tiểu bang này thị sát t́nh trạng cháy rừng khủng khiếp bắt đầu từ hơn nửa tháng qua.

Tôi hy vọng khoa học đồng ư với tổng thống,” Bộ Trưởng Crowfoot đáp lại.

Tổng thống cười nhạt: “Tôi nghĩ, thật sự, chính khoa học cũng không biết ǵ.”

Ṭa Bạch Ốc từ chối yêu cầu nhận xét về câu nói của ông Trump với đài CNBC.

Trên trang Twitter, Bộ Trưởng Crowfoot gởi ra tin nhắn: “Thực chất, khí hậu không mát dần đâu, thưa tổng thống,” và ông thêm vào dấu
hiệu #ClimateChangeIs Real (Biến đổi khí hậu có thật).

Từ lâu nay, tổng thống chỉ trích t́nh trạng cháy rừng tại California là do quản lư rừng tồi tệ và chuyện biến đổi khí hậu là “bịa đặt.”

“Những lănh đạo quốc gia khác có rừng nhiều hơn California mà không có vấn đề ǵ,” ông Trump nói trong cuộc họp bàn tṛn có mặt Thống Đốc Gavin Newsom.

Trong cuộc họp, Bộ Trưởng Crowfoot đưa dẫn chứng đợt nóng bức bất thường ập vào tiểu bang California: “Tại đây t́nh trạng thời tiết nóng bùng phát bất thường vào mùa Hè năm nay. Chắc tổng thống cũng có nghe tại Thung Lũng Chết (Death Valley) ghi nhận kỷ lục nóng nhất thế giới, 130 độ F. Và tại khu vực Los Angeles cũng đạt kỷ lục trên 120 độ F trong đợt nóng vừa rồi. Hiện tại, chúng ta không chỉ đang chứng kiến một mùa Hè nóng bức hơn, mà cả một mùa Đông nóng hơn sắp tới.”

“Nếu chúng ta bất chấp khoa học, theo kiểu vùi đầu trong cát, và chỉ cho rằng việc quản lư rừng mà thôi, tôi e rằng chúng ta không thể bảo vệ được người dân, thưa tổng thống,” ông Crowfoot nói trong cuộc họp.

Đúng là không hiểu biết về thời tiết và khoa học cả. Ở Calif., khí hậu mùa hè rất là nóng và khô khủng khiếp luôn, cộng với những cây cối cọ vào nhau sẽ bốc cháy dễ dàng, kế theo là những cây thông là những thùng xăng. Nhiều tiểu bang khác cũng như nước khác có rất nhiều cây, nhưng khí hậu rất là ẩm ướt, không bốc cháy được...
