Lư do hủy bỏ kế hoạch tổ chức Hội nghị G7 tại khu nghỉ dưỡng của ông Trump được đưa ra sau khi đảng Dân chủ chỉ trích quyết định này là bằng chứng về việc tổng thống lạm dụng chức quyền.

Reuters đưa tin, Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump ngày 19/10 đă hủy bỏ kế hoạch tổ chức hội nghị thượng đỉnh Nhóm các nước công nghiệp phát triển hàng đầu thế giới (G7) năm 2020 ở khu nghỉ dưỡng-sân golf riêng của ông ở bang Florida sau khi phe Dân chủ và các lực lượng khác chỉ trích quyết định này là bằng chứng về việc tổng thống lạm dụng chức quyền để phục vụ lợi ích cá nhân.

Trong một loạt đoạn tweet, ông Trump khẳng định sẽ hủy bỏ kế hoạch được quyền Chánh Văn pḥng Nhà Trắng Mick Mulvaney tuyên bố hôm 17/10.

Tổng thống Mỹ viết: “Xuất phát từ sự phản đối điên cuồng và phi lư từ cả truyền thông và phe Dân chủ, chúng tôi không c̣n coi khu nghỉ dưỡng-sân golf Trump National Doral, Miami, là địa điểm tổ chức hội nghị thượng đỉnh G-7 vào năm 2020. Chúng tôi sẽ ngay lập tức bắt đầu t́m kiếm một địa điểm khác, có thể bao gồm cả Trại David.
