Khách sạn ở Thụy Sĩ, nơi được cho là sẽ diễn ra cuộc họp đầu tiên giữa Tổng thống Mỹ Joe Biden và Tổng thống Vladimir Putin, đã nhận được hàng loạt đề nghị đặt phòng vào tháng 6.Theo Sputnik, toàn bộ phòng tại khách sạn The Intercontinental ở Geneva, Thụy Sĩ đều đã kín chỗ trong khoảng thời gian từ ngày 11-18/6 vì được đồn là nơi sắp diễn ra cuộc gặp thượng đỉnh giữa hai nhà lãnh đạo Nga - Mỹ.

Đầu tháng này, Nhà Trắng thông báo, hai nhà lãnh đạo Mỹ và Nga sẽ họp thượng đỉnh tại Geneva vào ngày 16/6, đánh dấu cuộc gặp trực tiếp đầu tiên giữa hai nhà lãnh đạo kể từ khi ông Biden nhậm chức.

Ngay lập tức, truyền thông Thụy Sĩ cho rằng, cuộc họp sẽ diễn ra tại khách sạn The Intercontinental với lý do đây từng là nơi diễn ra cuộc hội đàm giữa cựu Tổng thống Mỹ Ronald Reagan và cựu lãnh đạo Liên Xô Mikhail Gorbachev năm 1985. Khách sạn này cũng là nơi diễn ra cuộc hội đàm đầu tiên giữa cựu Ngoại trưởng Mỹ Hillary Clinton với người đồng cấp Nga Sergey Lavrov năm 2009 và nhiều cuộc họp khác giữa Nga và Mỹ.

Tuy nhiên, theo ghi nhận của phóng viên Sputnik, hiện chưa có dấu hiệu rõ ràng nào cho thấy sự chuẩn bị cho một cuộc họp thượng đỉnh quan trọng tại khách sạn này.
