Tổng thống sắp măn nhiệm, ứng cử viên Donald Trump đă phản đối kết quả bầu cử, tố cáo nạn gian lận hàng loạt và hứa hẹn sẽ đưa vấn đề ra trước ṭa án. Tuy nhiên, các luật sư của ông không đưa ra được các bằng chứng, và hiện các vụ kiện đều bị bác, sau khi truyền thông tuyên bố ông Joe Biden thắng cử trong cuộc bầu cử tổng thống Mỹ ngày 03/11/2020.

« Do không có chứng cứ đưa ra trước ṭa, các luật sư của ông Donald Trump thường phải thất vọng. Một trong những vụ đáng nhớ nhất là tại ṭa án liên bang Pennsylvania, khi phía ông Trump yêu cầu tư pháp ra lệnh ngưng kiểm phiếu, v́ các quan sát viên Cộng Ḥa bị ngăn không được vào văn pḥng bầu cử.

Vấn đề là tại phiên ṭa, luật sư không có căn cứ nào để chứng minh sự việc này. Ngược lại, thẩm phán rốt cuộc c̣n buộc ông phải nh́n nhận rằng số quan sát viên Cộng Ḥa không chỉ có mặt, mà c̣n đông gấp đôi so với bên Dân Chủ. Vị thẩm phán, do một tổng thống Cộng Ḥa bổ nhiệm, hỏi : « Xin lỗi, vậy th́ vấn đề thực tế là ǵ ? »

Một ví dụ khác tại ṭa án Detroit ở bang Michigan. Các luật sư phía ông Trump khởi kiện v́ các phiếu bầu được nhận hai ngày sau thời điểm được luật pháp ấn định. Nguồn tin của họ là từ một quan sát viên không phải là nhân chứng trực tiếp. Thẩm phán kết luận như vậy đây chỉ là tin đồn.

Kết quả là hiện nay, hơn một chục vụ kiện về gian lận và bất hợp lệ được Nhà Trắng đưa ra đă bị bác bỏ. Theo các thẩm phán, chưa có vụ nào đủ nghiêm túc để có thể mở điều tra ».
